Salary IRO £34k
Working Hours: 40 hours per week operating on a flexi-time scheme with core hours of 09:00 – 15:00 each day and 30 minutes unpaid break
 
Cubed Resourcing are currently recruiting for an Advanced Process Industrial Engineer to join our automotive component manufacturing client's team.
 
Essential Qualifications/ Experience:
• Holder of IMS certificate
• Industrial engineering experience
 
Main Job Purpose
To provide estimated material and production costs for customer quotations during the development of new projects and maintain/review these costs throughout development and during production together with making improvements in production where applicable. To ensure that all proposed production facilities have sufficient capacity built into them for the foreseeable future. To provide support for the Pre Production engineers in the set up of production facilities. To ensure that all future projects are assessed for their feasibility to incorporate advanced process methodologies.
 
Principal Accountabilities 
 1. To provide a service to Sales, Finance and Engineering ensuring accurate timely material and production costings are provided for quotation purposes within company (status ‘0’) procedures.
 2. To advise Finance department where new cost/work centres are required to maintain a detail cost breakdown structure and recommend solutions which provide the lowest possible cost base.
 3. To provide manufacturing capacity statements for both existing and new projects. 
 4. To periodically review production performance against the standard, highlighting and correcting any discrepancies and reporting any changes to the departmental manager.
 5. To maintain routings within the SAP system at the correct level.
 6. To provide a time study service as and when required.
 7. To create and ensure adherence to the industrial engineering section project plan, presenting it to the departmental/executive manager for review on a regular basis.
 8. To plan and control the factory layout and advise as to when changes are necessary.
 9. To carry out a quarterly capacity review with regards to assembly line capacity and headcount planning presenting it to the departmental/executive manager for review on a regular basis..
 10. To carry out a quarterly mould shop capacity review in line with new product introductions, products which are reaching end of life and customer requests presenting it to the departmental/executive manager for review on a regular basis.. 
 11. To accurately provide management information in report format on time as requested.
 12. To lead the task of developing the ergonomic layout of new production facilities ensuring the most cost effective methods are employed. 
 13. To provide support to the Pre Production department with product launches in terms of assembly line readiness for start of production.
 14. To review assembly process and time study to ensure that new launches are in line with initial quotes.
 15. To lead the task of identifying future process methodologies and how these may be incorporated into existing and new projects. 
 16. To ensure full commitment and support for training, communications, health and safety (including IMS), housekeeping and personal discipline.
 
Job Scope 
Predominantly plans and monitors activity on a scale of daily to monthly.
Liaise with production engineers to resolve poor working practises in the production environment.
Internal Contacts – employees up to executive management level across all departments within KOB and up to senior management level within the group.
External Contacts - customer to management level for description and qualification of quotations and suppliers to director level. 
Preferred Education & Experience
Formal Engineering qualification at minimum HNC level or equivalent experience (desirable)
Holder of the IMS certificate (essential) and preferably the IMS diploma (desirable).
Holder of a formal MTM qualification and active practitioner (desirable)
Membership of the Institute of Management Services (desirable)
Minimum of 3 years industrial engineering experience, ideally in the mid to high volume manufacturing sector. (essential)
Ability to demonstrate a range of skills including teamworking, communication, planning, problem solving, project management, negotiation and commercial awareness. (essential)
Working knowledge of personal computers (essential)
